Sudden Emergencies & Great Challenges

Special Request Program - S.O.S.

There are high school students in our community determined to succeed who face great challenges in their lives.
Homelessness. Abandonment. Extreme poverty.

We are uniquely positioned to help them. Through our SOS (Support our Students) fund we intervene in times of crisis.

In 2023-2024 we will distribute over $17,000 for these special needs to students through their counselors and social workers.

Examples of requests funded 

• An alarm clock for a hearing impaired student so he could catch the bus in the morning
• Tuition deposits for first generation college students
• Conference and field trip fees for students who would otherwise have to miss out on these important educational opportunities
• Appropriate clothing
• Basic school supplies
• A used bike for transport to a crucial part-time job​
