Please be our guest for an elegant evening of dining, cocktails, and spirited bidding in support of The Children’s Well-being League of Asheville.  Gala tickets will be limited to 300 due to the Deerpark venue space limitations.  Get your tickets early!

Every dollar raised will help fund high school student stipends—providing $730 per student, per year—as well as the CWL  scholarship fund, empowering the next generation to step up and succeed.

Your generosity this evening will fund these life-changing programs - no catches, no stipulations, just support where it’s needed most. For some students, it’s a lifeline for essentials. For others, it’s the gift of normalcy, a chance to experience the opportunities so many take for granted. We hope that you will join us because Small Steps, when taken together, create Big Differences.

THE WORK THAT WE DO:
No student should have to choose between staying in school and
affording basic necessities like food, rent, and transportation. This year,
CWL Asheville has provided unrestricted cash stipends to 320 thriving but
financially challenged students. These funds are distributed monthly by school
social workers in all high schools within Asheville City & Buncombe County.
The students have full control over how they spend this money, whether on
food, living expenses, shoes for work, or a small gift for a family member. This
flexibility gives them dignity and normalcy in a situation that they did not ask
for. Each student within this program receive es $730 per year.
Student SOS Fund
All students do not qualify for a stipend, and some things just can’t wait. The SOS program provides quick support for urgent needs such as field trips, tuition deposits, a senior yearbook, or shared camp site fees. Last year, in partnership with the school counselors, we were able to award $20,300 to these students, always within days of the request.

Emerging Needs
Many of our stipend students are unhoused but remain determined to graduate. To give them a better chance at success, we distribute durable backpacks to hold school work & personal items that are easy to transport. We provide: gas cards, healthy snacks for when they work through dinner and air mattresses so wherever they are for the evening, they have a bed.

Scholarships
Our commitment to these students extends past high school with endowed scholarships at A-B Tech and UNC-Asheville. A CORE scholarship is awarded each year. This funds two years at A-B Tech and two at UNC Asheville. Last year, we introduced our own scholarship program awarding ten stipend $1000 scholarships.
